This book, more than any other I have seen, makes the case for raised-bed gardening, and offers a complete and welcoming take on selecting your plants, building and maintaining your raised-bed garden and how to help your garden thrive. Along with Ruth Stout and Mel Bartholomew, this is my favorite gardening book for beginners - and I will be buying copies as gifts to friends similarly situated.
